Jews are called the people of the Book, holding fast to their love for the Word, continuously through 4000 years, whether at home, in exile or in extremis. Throughout the millennia, generations of Commentary have been added to the received Bible, loading the margins with reverence and debate.

My notion of commentary stems from this Judaic tradition, but my language is contemporary and nomadic. Words and images meet up with the cultural time-line in fragments. Thematically, the work deals with history and identity, with the pull of Jerusalem, with the Middle East crisis and the deep need for reconciliation.
